Mythic skins are the fanciest ones. Prisms are how you unlock and upgrade them.
Up to 80 Prisms are available through the premium Battle Pass. 80 Prisms fully unlock one standard Mythic hero skin and its normal customisation levels. The Mythic Shop lets you spend them on this season's Mythic or earlier ones.
Blizzard: Mythic ShopPick the Mythic for a hero you actually play. It is a lot of Prisms for a skin you will not see often.

How are Mythic skins different from Legendary?
Mythics are more elaborate, and you customise them by unlocking levels with Mythic Prisms. Legendaries are single, fixed skins.
Can I buy old Mythic skins?
Yes. The Mythic Shop offers the current season's Mythic and earlier Mythic skins.
Do Mythic skins make my hero stronger?
No. They are purely cosmetic.
