A season-long reward track. You earn XP by playing, and XP turns into tiers, and tiers into rewards.
The premium Battle Pass costs 1,000 Overwatch Coins, and the free track offers up to 600 Coins. Up to 80 Mythic Prisms are available through the premium track.

Unvaulted Battle Passes
Open Battle Passes → Legacy Pass to activate one eligible owned pass alongside the current season. Saved progress carries over. Legacy Seasons 1–15 can be purchased from the Unvaulted Battle Pass shop tab; locked passes arrive later. The 2026 Season 4 pass becomes available at midseason.
Mythic skins, Mythic Prisms, Overwatch Coins, XP boosts and player titles cannot be earned from unvaulted passes. Check the eligible reward list before buying.

- Complete your weekly and event challenges. They award a lot of XP for a little effort.
- Play events when they are running. Some give bonus XP.
- Queue with friends when you can. Group play can boost XP.
- Play regularly rather than binge. You do not need to grind.
Do not force it. If you fall behind, you fall behind. You will still keep everything you unlocked.
Seasons change details like tier counts and prices. The in-game Battle Pass and Shop screens are always the final word.

Can I earn Overwatch Coins for free?
Yes. Up to 600 Overwatch Coins are available through the free Battle Pass progression. You do not need to buy the premium pass to get them.
Is the Battle Pass worth buying?
It is optional. If you enjoy cosmetics and plan to play regularly during the season, it can be good value. If you do not care about skins, skip it.
What happens when the season ends?
Rewards you already unlocked are yours to keep. Season 5 lets eligible owned Unvaulted Battle Passes resume from saved progress. Some reward types remain excluded.
