Overwatch cosmetics explained

Cosmetics change how your hero looks and sounds. They never change how it plays.

Common cosmetic types

Skins: Change how a hero looks. They come in rarities: Rare, Epic, Legendary and Mythic.
Emotes and victory poses: Short animations you can show off.
Highlight intros: The animation that plays when a highlight starts.
Voice lines and sprays: Extra expression for chat and the map.
Player icons and name cards: Show up on your profile and in-game.
Weapon variants: Special weapon looks such as Golden and Jade, unlocked with Competitive Points.
